Aranella (アルフィニー Arufinī?, "Alphini"), known as Nella for short, is a character appearing in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. She is Evan's governess who has watched over him since he was a child, and taught him everything about magic and fighting. She was admired by many.
She was killed by the Black Knight, protecting Evan as he and Roland were escaping Ding Dong Well. Before she died, she implored Evan to be strong for the kingdom of Ding Dong Dell. Her corpse is then found by her fellow handmaidens. As Evan's kingdom Evermore grows, he names the town square "Aranella's Square".
The Lair of the Lost Lord DLC[]
She was able to leave behind a martial method for Evan and his party to learn called the "Ding Dong Discipline".
The Tale of the Timeless Tome DLC[]
In this DLC, Aranella's memory transfers to Memory Lane. It is here where the nightmares torment her making her believe that Evan had been killed and that she had failed in her duties. However, Evan proved to her that was not the case, his memories flowed into hers and she came to the realization that all is well.
The High Higgledly Tootle the Trusting is born from her faith in Evan, and according to her all the people of Ding Dong Dell's faith as well. She was now able to rest peacefully knowing that Evan has brought peace and achieved his father's dream.
