Each familiar has a different rate at which they either attain statistics or tricks through level, for example some familiars may level up faster or slower than others. This means that you will have several choices as a player:

Name Description
Early Growth The familiar experiences an easier early game but a harder late game.
Average Growth The familiar experiences a average rate of growth over the entire game.
Late Growth The familiar experiences a harder early game but an easier late game.


The effect of the early and late paths, comparatively to the normal path, is felt around the level 45 break point. This causes early path familiars to have an easier game pre-45 and late path familiars to have an easier time post-45.

It is to be said that MOST players will not experience the effects of the different growth rates unless they choose to participate in post-game completion content.
